Mr Keith Hughes

Keith Hughes

1945 – 2024

In the memory of Keith Hughes who sadly passed on the 18th March 2024 aged 79.

Keith made many good friends along the way as a well loved and respected teacher in the local communities of Sawston & Linton for over 50 years.

Whilst teaching was his vocation, Keith enjoyed so many other passions. His garden and green houses were always brimming with fresh vegetables; the continuous sound of the wood saw in his shed as he designed and made Christmas ornaments and wooden kitchen utensils to sell at the local craft fairs, and of course, he was known for his love of horse racing – and a small bet or two.

He will be sorely missed by his wife,Roslynne, his three children, their spouses and five grandchildren, but remembered with love, happiness and laughter for the life they all shared together.

Messages of condolence

To us Keith was a great friend and the ultimate organiser. He loved to organise events etc, and put his heart and soul into it to make it a success and it always was. In our local area often when out with him at golf, racing, darts etc he would bump into an old pupil of his, and they would always be pleased to see him and spoke affectionately of him. We will miss him so much and Christmas will never be quite the same without him.

In memory after Keith, a neighbour to Doreen and George Bassett when he lived with Ros and his family in the Woodlands Linton. A kind, caring man who shared happy moments with my dad when they got together to do jobs. Moments that we recently smiled about.
